Suizhou (meteorite)
The meteorite Suizhou ( Chinese 随州 陨石 , Pinyin Suizhou yuanshi ) or Suizhou L6 chondrite is a meteorite that hit the Dayanpo region of the Zengdu der on April 15, 1986 in a shower consisting of twelve meteorites with a total weight of approx. 17 kilograms prefecture-level city of Suizhou in Hubei Province, China . The discovery of natural high pressure minerals of the meteorite is important for understanding the mineral formation and geochemistry of the earth's mantle .
The mineral Tuit, named after Tu Guangzhi (Chinese: 涂 氏 磷 钙 石; Pinyin : Tushilingaishi) and the mineral named after Xie Xiande , Xieit (Chinese: 谢氏 超 晶石 Xieshichaojingshi) were discovered here for the first time.
