Suizhou
Suizhou (随州市; Pinyin : Suízhōu Shì ) is a district-free city in the Chinese province of Hubei . Suizhou has an area of 9636 km² and around 2,560,000 inhabitants (end of 2009).
Suizhou City is founded
In 1949, the new government of the People's Republic of China divided the historic Sui (随 县) district into two districts, Sui and Hongshan (洪山 县). In 1955 they were reunited under the name "Sui". In 1979, two large parishes were spun off from the county and made the independent city of Suizhou. On August 19, 1983, the remaining Sui County was also dissolved and integrated into Suizhou City, which initially remained independent. On October 11, 1988, the Yingshan Historic District (应 山 县) was dissolved and the Guangshui City was established on its territory . In 1994 Suizhou City was directly subordinated to the Hubei Provincial Government. On June 25, 2000, the independent city of Suizhou was dissolved and the Zengdu district was established on its area , which was merged with the independent city of Guangshui to form the new independent city of Suizhou. In May 2009, large parts of the Zengdu District were spun off and the new Sui County was founded on them, so that today Suizhou City has three subdivisions at the county level.
Administrative structure
At the county level, Suizhou consists of a city district , a city and a district . These are:
