Jingmen ( Chinese  荊門 市  /  荆门 市 , Pinyin Jīngmén Shì ) is a district-free city in the Chinese province of Hubei . The administrative area of ​​the city extends over an area of ​​12,404 km² and has about 3,006,000 inhabitants (end of 2003). Further south is the city of Jingzhou , which borders on Jingmen with its Shashi district . The city's agriculture is characterized by the cultivation of grain.

Administrative structure

At the county level, Jingmen consists of two boroughs , one county and two independent cities. These are:

  • Dongbao district (东宝 区), 1,645 km², 370,000 inhabitants, center, seat of the city government;
  • City district Duodao (掇 刀 区), 639 km², 360,000 inhabitants;
  • Circle Shayang (沙洋县), km² 2044, 600,000 inhabitants, capital: greater community Shayang (沙洋镇);
  • Jingshan City (京山 市), 3,284 km², 650,000 inhabitants;
  • Zhongxiang City (钟祥 市), 4,488 km², 1.03 million inhabitants.
