Xiantao ( Chinese 仙桃 市 , Pinyin Xiāntáo Shì ) is an independent city in Hubei Province in central China . It is directly subordinate to the provincial government and not a district-free city like other urban districts . The administrative area of Xiantao has an area of 2538 km² and approximately 1,494,100 inhabitants (end of 2004).
The famous gymnast Yang Wei is a native of Xiantao.
Administrative structure
At the community level, Xiantao consists of three street districts and 15 large communities . These are:
- Street district Shazui (沙嘴 街道), 44.55 km², 65,082 inhabitants, center, seat of the city government;
- Ganhe street district (干 河 街道), 83.02 km², 149,857 inhabitants;
- Longhuashan street district (龙 华山 街道), 40.29 km², 94,717 inhabitants;
- Greater community Zhengchang (郑场镇), 110.92 km², 96,347 inhabitants;
- Greater community Maozui (毛嘴镇), 115.5 km², 72,841 inhabitants;
- Large municipality Louhe (剅 河镇), 175.29 km², 77,728 inhabitants;
- Sanfutan municipality (三伏 潭镇), 118.97 km², 79,421 inhabitants;
- Greater community Huchang (胡场镇), 171.18 km², 82,168 inhabitants;
- Changtangkou Municipality (长 埫 口镇), 190.07 km², 111,712 inhabitants;
- Large community Xiliuhe (西 流 河镇), 195.74 km², 97,501 inhabitants;
- Greater community Pengchang (彭场镇), 158.01 km², 92,596 inhabitants;
- Shahu municipality (沙湖 镇), 277.36 km², 54,277 inhabitants;
- Greater community Yanglinwei (杨林尾镇), 252.86 km², 89,640 inhabitants;
- Zhanggou community (张 沟镇), 143.84 km², 79,016 inhabitants;
- Large municipality of Guohe (郭 河镇), 128.62 km², 74,247 inhabitants;
- Greater community Tonghaikou (通海口镇), 126.08 km², 55,427 inhabitants;
- Chenchang Municipality (陈 场 镇), 147.11 km², 79,970 inhabitants;
- Large community Miancheng der Hui (沔 城 回族 Groß), 36.09 km², 25,586 inhabitants, of which 3,080 Hui .
There is also an "industrial park" (工业 园区) with an area of 4.5 km² and 15,853 inhabitants, which is directly subordinate to the city government.
