Dave van den Bergh (born May 7, 1976 in Amsterdam ) is a former Dutch football player and current coach . He has been coaching the US U-15 national team since February 8, 2016 .

Career

Player career

Van den Bergh began his career in 1986 as a youth at Ajax Amsterdam . In 1995 he was brought into the A team and won a championship title with Ajax. For the 1997/98 season he moved to Spain to Rayo Vallecano and made promotion to the Primera División with the team. FC Utrecht signed him for the 2000/01 season . In 2006 he moved to the United States for Kansas City Wizards . From 2007 to 2009 he played for the New York Red Bulls . At the beginning of 2009 he moved to FC Dallas and ended his active career there at the end of the season, now 33 years old.

In 2004 he played two games for the Dutch national team . He made his debut against Sweden on August 18, 2004. Before that, he had already played international matches for various Dutch youth national teams, including the 1995 Junior World Cup in Qatar .

Coaching career

After he was assistant coach of the US U-20 national team for over six years from 2010 to the beginning of 2016 , he took over the position of head coach of the US U-15 national team on February 8, 2016 .
