David Álvarez Aguirre (born February 5, 1984 in Avilés , Spain ), short name Kily , is a former Equatorial Guinean national soccer player .

The native Spaniard with Equatorial Guinean roots began his career in Real Oviedo's youth . In 2003, Álvarez Aguirre made his debut in the club's first team. The following year he moved to UP Langreo , where he played for two seasons. In 2006 he signed a contract with Atlético Madrid and was henceforth used in the club's B team. After two seasons in Madrid, Álvarez Aguirre moved to Orihuela CF in 2008 , and to Novelda CF a year later . In the summer of 2010 he signed again with UP Langreo, but was used that same year during a short guest appearance for the Club Marino de Luanco . By the end of his career in 2018, he was still active in seven other lower-class clubs.

National team

From 2007 to 2014, Álvarez Aguirre played 22 games for the senior team of Equatorial Guinea, including six in qualifying for the 2010 World Cup . During the African Cup of Nations in 2012 , he scored his only international goal against Senegal and thus secured the team's participation in the quarter-finals.
