David A. Adler
David Avram Adler , also David Abraham Adler , (born April 10, 1947 in New York ) is an American children's and youth author.
Life
Adler was best known for his Cam Jansen mystery series . He also writes books that explain the history of the Holocaust to young readers . In German he appeared Froim - the boy from the Warsaw ghetto . The children's book is based on the experiences of the concentration camp survivor Erwin Baum (1926–2006), who grew up with his brother in Janusz Korczak's orphanage “Dom Sierot” before he was deported to Auschwitz .
In 2017 Adler was awarded the Regina Medal .
