David August
David August (born in Hamburg , bourgeois David Nattkemper) is a German-Italian music producer and DJ in the electronic music scene.
biography
August received his first introduction to music at the age of five through piano lessons. At the age of 16 he devoted himself to electronic music and at 17 he made his first release with a remix for Oliver Koletzki.
His breakthrough in the scene came in August 2010 with his debut EP on Diynamic ( Instant Harmony - EP ). The Track Moving Day , which was internationally acclaimed and became a summer hit, ensured success . This was followed by two more EPs on Diynamic ( Peace of Conscience and You Got To Love Me ). The former included the track Hamburg Is For Lovers , which is considered a deep house masterpiece and is a declaration of love for August's native Hamburg . In 2013 David August released his first album "Times", which with its melancholy down-tempo character was intended more for the home and less for the club. In the course of this, August designed a live show and decided not to play any more DJ gigs. A year later, August made his debut with the "Epikur EP" on the Berlin label Innervisions . The title track "Epikur" was presented well in advance by Dixon on the legendary BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix . Another debut in the Boiler Room followed in the same year . At the end of 2014, David August was voted fourth best live act of the year in Resident Advisor's annual reader poll .
He currently lives in Berlin and is studying sound engineer there .
