Spencer's Pilots (in the original: Spencer's Pilots ) is an American television series that was broadcast on CBS on September 17, 1976 and on September 10, 1977 on First .

action

Spencer Parrish owns a small charter airline in California not far from San Diego , Spencer's Aviation . Its two pilots, Stan Lewis and Cass Garrett, take on all kinds of, sometimes very unusual, jobs that require aircraft. They transport prisoners, documents, explosives or seeds. The office is run by Linda Dann, who has a pilot's license herself. The mechanic Mickey "Wig" Wiggins is responsible for the technology and maintenance of the aircraft. Spencer and his pilots experience dangerous and exciting adventures, but solve them with flying skill, but often with a lot of luck.

Charisma

Although eleven episodes were filmed (and dubbed and broadcast in Germany), the series was canceled just two months after it first aired in the fall of 1976 on American television after only six episodes. At the time of the air (Fridays 8:00 p.m. EST ) the series Varity Show , Donny & Marie and Sanford and Son were running on the competing channels ABC and NBC . It was replaced by the series Code R , also set in Southern California .

Just one year later, the series was broadcast for the first time in Germany on ARD's lunchtime program. Spencer's pilot has not been shown on German television since 1980. Since December 7, 2012, the series has been available as a DVD box in a German and English version.
