David Bailey (born October 27, 1933 in Newark , New Jersey , † November 25, 2004 in Los Angeles , California ) was an American actor .

Life

Bailey joined the US Air Force at the age of 16 and stayed there for eight years before doing various jobs for a living. He began acting as an actor in the early 1960s and quickly got roles in television and later in film; there played his first role in a spaghetti western . However, Bailey quickly returned to the US and worked primarily for television series, mostly in guest roles. He was also seen in commercials. In Los Angeles he founded the Black Book Theater Company , for which he wrote plays as well as productions.

From 1981 to 1999 he played Dr. Russ Matthews in the long-running Another World series . In another soap opera , Passions , he had just gotten on board and received a positive response when he drowned in his swimming pool in an accident in 2004.
