David Bailie

David Bailie (born December 4, 1937 in South Africa ) is a British actor .

Life

Bailie was born in South Africa , where he also grew up. He attended boarding school in Swaziland and from 1952 lived with his family in Rhodesia , today's Zimbabwe . After completing his compulsory schooling, he first worked in a bank and then at Central African Airlines . He visited Great Britain for the first time in 1958 and moved to the island for good two years later. Since 1960 he can be seen in various films, series and plays. Between 1979 and 1995 he took a break from the film and television business and devoted himself increasingly to the theater. Today he is best known for his role as the mute pirate Cotton in Pirates of the Caribbean , Pirates of the Caribbean 2 and Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End .
