David Barclay (born October 27, 1934 in Hammersmith , London ) is a British entrepreneur and publisher .

Life

His parents were the Scots Frederick Hugh Barclay and Beatrice Cecilia Taylor. He and his brother own the British magazines The Business and The Spectator through Press Holdings . In 1993 he and his brother bought the British Channel Island Brecqhou .

In 2002 they acquired the British retail company Littlewoods . Furthermore, belongs to him and his brother since 2004 about the company Press Acquisitions Limited , the publisher Telegraph Group Limited . The British newspapers The Daily Telegraph and The Sunday Telegraph belong to this publisher . According to the US magazine Forbes Magazine , Barclay, along with his twin brother Frederick Barclay, is one of the richest British people. In 1954, Barclay married model Zoe Newton.
