David Brown (bassist)
David Brown (born February 15, 1947 , † September 4, 2000 ) was an American rock musician , best known as the longtime bassist of Carlos Santana .
Career
From 1966 to 1971 and from 1973 to 1976 David Brown was a member of Carlos Santana's backing band , with whom he recorded several albums during this time and also appeared at the legendary Woodstock Festival . He also worked on Boz Scaggs ' albums Moments , to which he contributed two songs of his own in 1971, as well as Boz Scaggs & Band (1971) and My Time (1972).
David Brown died of liver and kidney failure in 2000 .
