David DeCoteau

David DeCoteau (born January 5, 1962 , Portland , Oregon ) is an American film director and film producer .

Life

DeCoteau was born in Portland in 1962. After finishing school, he began working in the film industry in the mid-1980s when he worked as a production assistant for Roger Corman . Since 1986 he has shot and produced more than a hundred films, mostly horror films , with a low film budget, which he also directed under numerous pseudonyms such as Ellen Cabot and Julian Breen . In 2010 he started the 1313 series , in which he processed numerous horror myths. Since 2010 he has also been increasingly active as a cameraman for his own films. He has been working regularly with film editor Danny Draven for several years .

He also worked many times with the film producer Charles Band .

DeCoteau, who is also a Canadian citizen, lives openly gay in California.
