David Denby (2016)

David Denby (* 1943 ) is an American writer , best known for his work as a film critic .

Life

David Denby studied at Columbia College and graduated there in 1965. He then attended Columbia Journalism School , which he graduated in 1966.

Denby worked for newspapers such as The Atlantic Monthly and New York . Although already established as a journalist, Denby went to Columbia University in 1991 to take some courses there. He currently writes for The New Yorker magazine . He is also the author of several books.

David Denby is married to the writer Cathleen Schine , with whom he has two sons. The family lives in Manhattan .
