David Dunn (born December 27, 1979 in Great Harwood ) is a retired English football player . After his career stints at Blackburn Rovers and Birmingham City , he ended his active career at Oldham Athletic in January 2016 .
Career
The midfielder joined Blackburn Rovers as a young talent in early 1997 and made his professional debut on September 26, 1998 against Everton . His first professional goal he scored in the game against Aston Villa on February 6, 1999. In September 2002 he made his debut for the English national team in a friendly against Portugal , where he came on at half time for Steven Gerrard .
