David García da Pena (born September 30, 1977 in Pontevedra ) is a former Spanish cyclist .

David García began his career in 1999 with the Portuguese cycling team LA-Pecol . The next year he moved to Cantanhede-Marques de Marialva , where he won a stage at the Philips Grand Prix in 2001. In 2003 he won a stage at the Grand Prix Cantanhede and he was twice successful at the Grand Prix Abimota. For the 2004 season he moved back to LA-Pecol, where he won a section of the Volta a Terras de Santa Maria and the Volta a Tras os Montes e Alto Duoro. In 2005 he was successful in the fourth stage of the Abimota Grand Prix and in 2006 he won the first stage of the Volta a Terras de Santa Maria. From 2007 García drove for the Spanish Professional Continental Team Karpin Galicia . There he started at the Vuelta a España , where he made it into the top ten twice and finished 23rd in the overall standings. In 2008 he won the overall ranking of the Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkey . At the Vuelta a España 2010 , he finished eleventh overall.

At the end of September 2010 it was announced that García, together with his then teammate Ezequiel Mosquera, had tested positive for an EPO -covering preparation. At the end of the 2010 season he ended his career as an active professional cyclist. The Spanish Cycling Federation issued a two-year doping ban on January 27, 2011.
