David Hill (writer)
David Hill (* 1942 in Napier , New Zealand ) is a New Zealand writer .
life and work
Hill grew up in Napier and studied in Victoria, Australia at the local university. In 1982 he gave up teaching and devoted himself entirely to writing. His target audience are mostly children and adolescents, but his books are also highly valued by adult readers. See ya Simon (dt. Until then, Simon ), the story of a friendship between the narrator Nathan with the on muscular dystrophy ill teenager Simon in 1992, won the Children's Literature Foundation Gaelyn Gordon Award . In 2004 Hill received the New Zealand Order of Merit .
