David Kampa (born April 9, 1984 ) is a German volleyball player .

Career

David Kampa's father Ulrich completed a hundred international volleyball matches and his mother Sabine played in the Bundesliga with VfL Telstar Bochum . When the son and his brother Lukas Kampa played a year on a beach volleyball facility in Witten , he was discovered by Julius Brink's coach and signed by SV Bayer Wuppertal . Since 2004, the outside attacker has been part of the club's Bundesliga team. Since he attached great importance to his medical studies , he switched to VC Bottrop 90 (today RWE Volleys) in 2007 . Two years later he made promotion to the Bundesliga with the Bottrop team. In 2010 his brother Lukas came to Bottrop. After David Kampa was used as a libero in the meantime, he played in the 2011/12 season under the new coach Igor Prieložný in the external attack. However, he couldn't prevent the team from relegating the first division without a win this year. In the following year he rose again to the German upper house with the RWE Volleys as champions of the 2nd Bundesliga North. In December 2013, the RWE Volleys Bottrop was withdrawn from the Bundesliga, which is why Kampa was initially without a club. He joined, however, at the beginning of the second half of the league team of his youth club VfL Telstar Bochum. Since February 2015 David Kampa has been working as a doctor in the trauma surgery department of a Bochum university clinic.
