David Langton (actor)

David Langton (born April 16, 1912 in Motherwell , Scotland , † April 25, 1994 in Stratford-upon-Avon , England ; actually Basil Muir Langton-Dodds ) was a British actor.

Life

Langton began his career as a stage actor in the early 1930s, and from around 1945 he was also seen in leading roles on the stage. From 1955 on he worked in British films and from 1957 onwards in television films and series, some of which were also shown in German-speaking countries. Langton achieved international fame as Richard Bellamy in the 68-part television series Das Haus am Eaton Place, shot from 1971 to 1975 . He had his last appearance in 1991 in the English television series The Casebook of Sherlock Holmes .

David Langton died of a heart attack at the age of 82 . His son is the British director Simon Langton (* 1941), who also directed two episodes of the series Das Haus am Eaton Place in 1975 .
