David Lieske

David Lieske (born May 16, 1979 ) is a German artist. His works include text projections, photographs, films and space-consuming installations.

life and work

David Lieske's work alludes to both the process and the aesthetics of historical conceptual art. This creates a humorous, broken alliance with different reference systems. For example: fashion, archeology, architecture and equestrian sports. Lieske's work has already been shown in numerous solo and group exhibitions in galleries, art associations and museums. Lieske is represented by the following galleries: Galerie Buchholz (Germany), VI, VII (Norway), Corvi-Mora (England) and Rowley Kennerk Gallery (USA). David Lieske is also known as a musician / DJ under the pseudonym Carsten Jost. In 1999 Lieske founded the house label Dial Records in Hamburg together with Peter M. Kersten . David Lieske lives in New York after working in Hamburg, Berlin and Tel-Aviv.
