David Morris (actor)

David Cedric Morris (born September 11, 1924 in Folkestone , † October 29, 2007 in Watford ) was a British film actor and painter .

Life

Morris was born in Folkestone, England in 1924. At the age of nine he was awarded a scholarship to Magdalen College School , Oxford . During the Second World War , his brother was killed in North Africa . This, and his own experiences in the war, led Morris to become a peace activist . He later became an active member of the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament peace movement . After the war, David Morris decided to become an artist and studied at the École des Beaux-Arts .

Some of his portraits and landscapes have been exhibited by the Royal Society of Portrait Painters and the Royal Academy of Arts . He taught art in various schools in London , Oxford and Brighton for 20 years . In 1975 he married Olwen Goodwin . With her he had four children: two girls and two boys. David Morris died of a heart attack on October 29, 2007 at the age of 83 .
