David Pratt, 6th Marquess Camden

David George Edward Henry Pratt, 6th Marquess Camden (born August 13, 1930 ) is a British peer and non-party politician .

life and career

Pratt was born on August 13, 1930 as the son of John Pratt, 5th Marquess Camden (1899-1983) and his first wife Marjorie Jenkins († 1989). He attended Eton College . He later served in the Scots Guards as a second lieutenant .

From 1958 to 1969 he was a director of the Clive Discount Company . He is a member of the Hereditary Peerage Association . Pratt lives in Andover . (Status: 2003)

Membership in the House of Lords

After his father's death in 1983, Pratt inherited the title of Marquess Camden and the then associated seat in the House of Lords .

Most recently he was on leave of absence from the House of Lords .

He lost his seat through the House of Lords Act 1999 . He had not run for election for any of the remaining seats. He did not run in later by-elections either. He is not on the Register Of Hereditary Peers .

family

Pratt married Virginia Ann Finlaison on April 20, 1961, the only daughter of Francis Harry Hume Finlaison. They divorced in 1984. They have two sons and a daughter together. The older son, Earl of Brecknock (* 1965), is the Heir Apparent .
