David Sakurai

David Sakurai (born July 19, 1979 in Copenhagen , Denmark ) is a Danish- Japanese film actor and filmmaker .

Life

David Sakurai was born in Copenhagen to a Japanese father and a Danish mother. His mother Birthe Bo Sakurai is a respected artist and painter in Denmark.

David Sakurai lived in Copenhagen for the first 18 years before he went to Japan in 1997. In Tokyo he learned, among other things, eastern martial arts techniques , including the Kung Fu direction Wing Chun . He also began to gain experience in front of the camera as an actor in several Japanese independent films. David Sakurai is therefore fluent in Danish, English and Japanese.

In 2008 he returned to Denmark. Here he had already two years earlier, in 2006, his first notable film role in the short film Bag Full of Pain . Since then, David Sakurai has been a sought-after actor in action and crime films in the Scandinavian region. In 2014 he stood in front of the camera in one by one . In recent years Sakurai has also played Hollywood productions, including 2017 in Path of Vengeance alongside Antonio Banderas . In 2019 he could be seen in the American television series The Man in the High Castle .

Today David Sakurai, who is also known as a director and producer of short films, lives with his family in Los Angeles .
