David Schittenhelm (born March 13, 1987 in Freiburg ) is a German football player .

In his youth he played for SpVgg Besigheim , TSV Oettingen and TSV Nördlingen . In the summer of 2007 Schittenhelm moved to the regional league team TSV 1860 Munich II . For the reserve of the Munich Lions he played a total of 44 league games in the two following seasons and scored four goals.

From 2009 he was under contract with the third division club 1. FC Heidenheim . However, since he had torn a cruciate ligament on the penultimate match day of the 2008/09 season, he was unable to train for a long time. He made his debut in Heidenheim and thus his debut in professional football on April 17, 2010, when he was substituted on in the 68th minute of the home game against SpVgg Unterhaching . On April 24, 2010 he was in the starting line-up for the away game in Jena . By the end of the season he had four missions. His second year at FCH was very successful. He was able to establish himself in midfield and was part of the first team for most of the time. But the ups and downs continued, although he remained a fixture in the team in the 2011/12 season, but first he was sent off twice with yellow and red within a few weeks, then he tore another cruciate ligament in the winter training camp and with only 14 first round matches, the season was over for him. In the following season Schittenhelm only came to four missions; as a result, his contract was no longer renewed in summer 2013.
