Titular diocese Paraetonium

Paraetonium ( Italian : Paretonio ) is a titular bishopric of the Roman Catholic Church . It goes back to a submerged diocese of the ancient city of Paraitonion (today Marsa Matruh in north-western Egypt), which was inferior in the Roman province of Creta et Cyrene or in late antiquity Libya . The bishopric was assigned to the ecclesiastical province of Darnis .
