David Schneuer

David Schneuer (* 1905 in Przemyśl , then Austria-Hungary , † November 1988 in Israel ) was a Polish set designer and poster painter.

Live and act

His family wanted to emigrate to America, but during their stay in Hamburg they decided to stay in Germany. He attended secondary school in Munich . He lived with his parents in Munich until he was 18. In 1923 he went to Paris and attended the local art academy. He then worked as a set designer and poster painter at the Munich Schauspielhaus .

After his imprisonment in Dachau , David Schneuer emigrated to Israel in 1933 , where he lived and worked until his death in late 1988. During this time he created numerous wall paintings on many public places and ocean ships in Israel and abroad.

Schneuer's works are influenced by the golden twenties . In addition to many exhibitions in Israel, Canada, the USA and Europe, his works from the thirties can be found in major museums around the world.
