David Siegel (web designer)

David Siegel (* 1959 ) is an American web designer and typographer who set trends in website design primarily through his books Creating Killer Web Sites .

Siegel studied digital typography at Stanford University and graduated with a master's degree in 1986 . After working at Pixar Animation Studios for a year , he went freelance as a designer .

In 1996 his first book, Creating Killer Web Sites, was published . Siegel's focus is less on technical skills in the area of HTML , but more in the direction of design, style and user guidance. He described web presences as pages of the "third generation" if they are created through design and not through technical skills and guide readers through a website via a start page.
