David Zilberman

David Zilberman (born May 9, 1947 in Jerusalem ) is an Israeli - American economist . He is Professor of Agricultural Economics at the University of California, Berkeley .

David Zilberman studied economics and statistics at Tel Aviv University ( BA , 1971). He received his PhD in Agricultural and Resource Economics from Berkeley in 1979. Since then he has been a professor at Berkeley. Zilberman's research interests are agricultural and food policy, technical progress , environmental and resource economics, and microeconomics . For 2019 he received the Wolf Prize for Agricultural Science. Also in 2019, Zilberman was elected to the National Academy of Sciences .
