David Zobel (born June 11, 1996 in Starnberg ) is a German biathlete .

David Zobel's first major success was winning the German Cup in the 2013/14 season. In 2016 he started for the first time at the Biathlon Junior World Championships in Cheile Grădiştei . Without any effort in the individual, he immediately reached third place in the sprint and thus won the bronze medal. In the pursuit race he was 13th, in the relay he won the silver medal with Marco Groß , Lars-Erik-Weick and Dominic Reiter . Because of these good results, he was allowed to start at the European Championships in Tyumen . Here he finished 39th in the sprint, and in the pursuit he was able to improve to 29th place. At the Junior European Championships in Pokljuka , Zobel reached an 8th place in the individual. In the sprint he won the bronze medal and in the pursuit he was able to achieve the junior European championship title due to a strong mileage.

In the 2016/17 season, Zobel competed in the IBU Junior Cup several times. At the Junior European Championships in Nové Město na Moravě , he was unable to build on last year's success and won no precious metal, but he won the individual silver medal at the Biathlon Junior World Championships in Osrblie and won the relay with Justus Strelow, Danilo Riethmüller and Dominic Jewelry the bronze medal. In the overall IBU Junior Cup, Zobel came third. Because of these strong results, he was used for the first time in the IBU Cup in Kontiolahti , where he was 29th in the sprint and 20th in the pursuit.

He is a member of the customs ski team .
