The Davis Peninsula is an approximately 5 km wide, ice-covered peninsula in Queen Marie Land in East Antarctica . It lies between the Reid and Northcliffe glaciers .
It was discovered in November 1912 as part of the Australasian Antarctic Expedition (1911-1914) under the direction of the Australian polar explorer Douglas Mawson . It is named after the Australian navigator John King Davis (1884-1967), the captain of the ship Aurora on this research trip .
