De'Jour Russell gained his first international experience at the CARIFTA Games 2015 in Basse-Terre , where he won the gold medal with the Jamaican 4 x 100 meter relay. A year later, at the games in St. George’s, he won the silver medal in the 100-meter run and gold in the relay. Over 110 meter hurdles he qualified for the U20 World Championships in Bydgoszcz , where he finished fourth in 13.39 s, as well as with the Jamaican relay. In 2017 he won the gold medal over the hurdles at the CARIFTA Games in Willemstad in 13.19 s, as well as at the Youth World Championships in Nairobi , where he won with a new championship record of 13.04 s. In 2018 he took part for the first time in the Commonwealth Games in the Australian Gold Coast , where he finished eighth in 13.92 s.
