De / Vision is a German synthpop - band .
history
De / Vision was founded in July 1988 in Bensheim near Darmstadt by Thomas Adam, Stefan Blender, Steffen Keth and Markus Ganßert. In May 1991 Stefan Blender left the band.
The maxi releases of Your Hands on My Skin in 1990 and Boy on the Street in 1992 on the Synthetic Product Records label , as well as various sampler contributions and various concerts, were the cornerstone for the success of Try to Forget , which was released as a maxi single at the end of 1993 Strange Ways Records was released. At the beginning of 1994 the debut LP World Without End was released , which like the Maxi was mixed by Axel Henninger, the former producer of Camouflage , and De / Vision. In April 1995 De / Vision were on an extensive tour of Germany.
In August 1995 the MCD Dress Me When I Bleed was released . The subsequent tour took them through some of their strongholds. In November 1995, the CD Antiquity, dedicated to fans, with old, unreleased songs and the live video Live Moments We Shared , came out.
August 1996 followed the first chart entry (place 87 Media Control) with Fairyland and the publication of the maxi-single Sweet Life . After the big tour of Germany in September and October, the second single I Regret was released . The live video Fairylive was released in 1997.
After switching to major WEA Records, De / Vision released their new album Monosex . On the monosex tour De / Vision played several times in front of over 1000 fans. The CD entered the Media Control Charts at number 30 and lasted four weeks. The first single made it to number 47, stayed in the charts for three weeks and was featured on the then current VIVA sampler .
On November 17th, the 10th anniversary of the band was documented with CD Ten (88-98) , a kind of best-of CD with a few new remixes. The following extensive club tour took the band abroad again: to Sweden, Norway, Switzerland, Spain and the Netherlands. Live the band was supported by a guest guitarist on some songs.
From February to April 1999 the band was in Berlin in the studio with the new producer Geord Kaleve.
After the controversially discussed album Void , published in 2000, Markus Ganßert left the band in the summer of 2000. Thomas Adam and Steffen Keth decided to go on alone.
Published in autumn 2000 De / Vision along with the trance -Project Green Court the single "Shining" that 40 of the German single charts reached the top. The successor single Take (My Breath Away) could not follow the success.
Drakkar Records approached the band and after long negotiations they agreed on a record deal. The CD Two was released. On the label of the manager at the time, the CD Remixed was released in 2002 with songs from 1993 to 1996 and with the musical help of Jose Alvarez Brill.
The CD Devolution was released in 2003 by Drakkar, followed by a live CD Devolution Tour - Live , which was also released on the Synthetic Product Records label of the management at the time. The MCD I Regret 2002 came with a delay , which was only released in 2003 and brought the band back onto the screens with the video clip.
The album 6 Feet Underground , released in June 2004, rose from 0 to 35 in the Media Control Charts , making it the band's second most successful album after monosex .
The previous VHS live videos Fairylive and Moments We Shared were released with bonus material on the Pictures of the Past DVD .
On January 27, 2006, the new album Subkutan was released. The band's second best-of album followed on November 24, 2006. On August 24, 2007, the new album NOOB was released , on which Steffen and Thomas worked for the first time on an equal footing with their producers Schuhmann & Bach . This fact is reflected in the title NOOB , which is derived from the word newbie , i.e. newcomer or beginner.
In October 2007, the first vinyl release Your Hands on My Skin and the first Maxi Boy on the Street as well as old sampler contributions were published under the name Da * Mals . The new studio album entitled Popgefahr was released on March 19, 2010 in Germany. Like the previous album NOOB , it was again produced by Schuhmann & Bach. In April 2010 Steffen Keth and Thomas Adam were on tour , but at that time without the support of the drummer and guitarist.
On August 24, 2012 the work Rockets + Swords was released on the band's own label. The following month De / Vision went on tour again, this time with a drummer again. The tour 25 Years - Best of Tour followed in 2013 . Several concerts were recorded for audio and DVD recordings during the tour; the album 25 Years Best Of Tour 2013 was released in March 2014.
