De Aal (born October 24, 1949 in Arnhem ; actually Albert Anton Johan van Aalten ) is a Dutch pop singer .

Live and act

Bert van Aalten worked full-time as a dentist in The Hague . This is where his nickname of the singing dentist comes from . At the beginning of the 1980s he reached the top ten of the single charts in his home country with the popular carnival hit Een barg die hé un krul in de steert . In the following year he only partially followed up on this success with a second single produced according to the same concept .

Van Alten is the uncle of the journalist and writer Thomas van Aalten .
