De Bezige Bij ( Dutch for the busy bee ) is a renowned literary publisher from Amsterdam . It was founded in 1943 and participated in the opposition to National Socialism by printing relevant literature ( poetry and novels ) . After 1945 the publishing house was continued as an author collective. The national and international authors include a. Jan Campert , Remco Campert , Hugo Claus , Willem Frederik Hermans , Harry Mulisch , Gerard Reve , Jan Siebelink , Simon Vinkenoog , Tommy Wieringa and Leon de Winter .
