De Profundis is the third album by the Polish death metal band Vader .
History of origin
The album was released after the loss of the record contract with Earache Records on the small Polish label Croon Records. A short time after the album was released, the band negotiated contracts with the German punk label Impact Records . Initially the sub-label System Shock was founded only for Vader. Later bands like Master and Malevolent Creation were signed. The American label Conquest Music took over the distribution for North America.
Music genre
De Profundis was described in the Tales of the Macabre as the "perfect mixture of Slayer and Morbid Angel ", the last track on the album sounds like it came from Slayers Hell Awaits . The album is now considered a classic in the death metal scene.
Versions
The official version of the album has nine songs. However, there was also a special edition with a tenth song called I Feel You , a cover version of Depeche Mode , which was also released on the follow-up album Future of the Past . In 2000 the CD was re-released on a CD together with the successor.
