Deaf Forever ( English : Forever deaf ) is a bimonthly music magazine based in Dortmund . The first issue appeared on August 13, 2014. The magazine was founded by numerous former employees of Rock Hard magazine .

history

On January 8, 2014, Rock Hard magazine announced the separation from Götz Kühnemund , who was editor-in-chief of the magazine for 24 years . At the same time, the separation from the editors Andreas Himmelstein and Frank Albrecht was announced. According to Rock Hard , the separation from Kühnemund was "amicable". "The ideas about the future of Rock Hard are too far apart," says the statement. The magazine parted with Andreas Himmelstein and Frank Albrecht for “purely economic reasons”. In the period that followed, a few other freelancers also left the Rock Hard in solidarity with their fired colleagues .

Kühnemund and Wolf-Rüdiger Mühlmann , also a former Rock Hard employee , decided to found their own magazine. For this was the in Dubio Pro Metal publishing and Handelsgesellschaft mbH, a separate publisher founded, whose management took over Kühnemund. Kühnemund and Mühlmann appear as editors at the same time . The team includes numerous musicians such as Darkthrone - drummer Fenriz , Primordial singer Alan Averill and Atlantean Codex guitarist Manuel Trummer.

The name of the magazine comes from a song by the British band Motörhead . On the side of the magazine, Kühnemund refers to the Motörhead singer and bassist Lemmy Kilmister : "Lemmy already said: If you are deaf, you can't hear bad music!" The first issue appeared on August 13, 2014 with King Diamond at the Front page . Even before the first edition was published, over 1,000 people took out a subscription .
