Dean Town ( English for "director town", also a play on the Jaco Pastorius piece " Teen Town ") is a song by the US radio group Vulfpeck . The track was released as a digital single on October 11, 2016 and appeared on the band's second studio album, The Beautiful Game, on the independent Vulf Records label. The piece is one of the most performed in the band.
backgrounds
The title was written by Woody Goss, the formation's keyboard player , when he was still a music student in the United States. The piece is the scale type Moll associate and was in the key of F sharp composed. What is striking is the fast, continuous bass line during the main parts of the title, while the melody voice is characterized by musical pauses . The instrumentation of the piece is minimal. Performers are Joe Dart on bass guitar , Cory Wong as guitarist , Woody Goss on Wurlitzer electric piano , Jack Stratton on bass drum and snare drum while Theo Katzman plays a cymbal . The mixing took Jack Stratton and production and the mastering Devin Kerr. The music website AllMusic assigned Dean Town to the music genres rock, pop and rhythm and blues.
The download single has cost one US dollar since it was released in 2016 . Music critic Brandon Wenerd the website Brobible praised Joe Darts expression of bass lines which the musician Jaco Pastorius similar and wrote that the title of Dean Town win the heart of a radio music fans.
