Deanston is a village in the Scottish council area of Stirling . It is located about ten kilometers northwest of Stirling and 45 km southwest of Perth on the banks of the Teith and belongs to the municipality of Doune . Deanston is separated from Doune, 1 km away, by a forest.
Since 1785 a mill was located in Deanston, which contributed to the development of the village. The Deanston whiskey distillery has been located in the buildings since 1966 .
