Debbie Friedman
Deborah Lynn "Debbie" Friedman (born February 23, 1951 in Utica , New York, † January 9, 2011 in Mission Viejo , California) was a singer-songwriter and interpreter of Jewish liturgy. She played guitar and sang in Hebrew and English. She is best known for her setting of the Mi Shebeirach prayer . The music of Debbie Friedman had an influence on the liturgy of reform and conservative congregations, but also on Orthodox . Friedman was a feminist .
