Deborah Crombie (* 1952 ) is an American crime novel writer.

Life

Deborah Crombie grew up in Texas . Although she first studied biology, she then returned to her love of writing, worked for a while as a journalist and translator, and went to England and Scotland for some time . This is where she still gets her inspiration for her crime series about Duncan Kincaid and Gemma James, which is set in Great Britain and started her career as a freelance writer in 1994. Deborah Crombie lives with her police force husband and daughter in Richardson , Dallas County .

The detective novels

Similar to the duo Lynley & Havers in Elizabeth George , Kincaid & James are a police duo of superior and subordinate, with a relationship between Superintendent Duncan Kincaid, a divorced in his forties, and the single mother Sergeant Gemma James in the course of the novels is beginning. The private life of the investigators is the central theme of the series, and The Lost Poem is even about the murder of Kincaid's ex-wife.
