The Deception Plateau is a high and ice-covered high plateau 17.5 km long and 10 km wide in the East Antarctic Victoria Land . It is bounded by the Aviator Glacier , the Pilot Glacier, and Mount Overlord .
The southern group of the New Zealand Geological Survey Antarctic Expedition (1961–1962) named the plateau after its deceptive appearance from a distance .
