Deepin (formerly Linux Deepin and Hiweed Linux ) is a Chinese Linux distribution based on Debian .
Deepin is the most widely used Chinese Linux distribution.
Since 2013, the specially developed desktop environment Deepin Desktop Environment originally based on WebKit and HTML5 on until 2015 Qt ported fifth
In version 2014.2, the Windows compatibility layer CrossOver was included free of charge for the first time . In addition, WPS Office preinstalled.
At the end of 2015, there was a change with the switch from Ubuntu to Debian unstable as the base system, accompanied by a new syntax for the version numbers, a new logo and the omission of the word Linux in the name. This base was used until mid-March 2019. Since then, Debian stable has served as a new basis.
