Deer Island is one of the Thousand Islands in the US state of New York . It lies between the United States and Canada, 3 km north of Alexandria Bay , New York in the drain of Lake Ontario at the beginnings of the Saint Lawrence River . It is wholly owned by the Russell Trust Association and serves as a retreat for the Skull and Bones secret society .
