Deividas Matulionis (* 1963 in the Lithuanian SSR ) is a Lithuanian diplomat and took office as Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania to Germany on October 23, 2012 . On July 11, 2017, he was replaced by Darius Jonas Semaška .

Life

In 1986 Matulionis graduated from the Faculty of Industrial Economics of Vilnius University (VU). He then worked as a lecturer in the department for theoretical economics at VU.

In 1991 he moved to the Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs , where he held various positions. From 2001 to 2006, Matulionis was the Authorized Special Representative in Denmark and Iceland. Before he became State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2007, he headed the Economic Security Policy Department. From 2009 to 2012 he was Chancellor of Prime Minister Andrius Kubilius , from 2012 to 2017 Ambassador. Since 2017 he has been an advisor to the Lithuanian Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis .

Matulionis is married and has two children.
