Del Buon Castello Island (Isola del Buon Castello) is a fully walled, fortified island in Venice's southern lagoon . It has an area of 2.41 hectares and is located northeast of Chioggia , directly in front of the bank fortifications of Sottomarina .
In the 18th century, the island formed part of the fortifications around the lagoon, the Murazzi . For this purpose it was walled and equipped with a fortress, the Forte San Felice.
The shipbuilding company Cantiere Navale Cimolin is located on the island.
