The Delay Point ( English for delay point ) is a rocky headland on the coast of the East Antarctic Queen Marie Land . It rises up to 185 m and is located on the west side of the Melba Peninsula about 10 km west of Cape Charcot .
It was discovered during the Australasian Antarctic Expedition (1911-1914) under the direction of the Australian polar explorer Douglas Mawson . It was named by the eastern group of the western base, which was held up for several days by bad weather during their sledge excursion here in November 1912.
