Demba Sowe

Demba Sowe (born 1972 in Mali Kunda , Gambia; died January 24, 2020 in Casablanca , Morocco) was a Gambian politician .

Sowe came from the place Nana in the district Niamina West of the Central River Region . He first attended Sambang Primary School and later Farafenni Junior Secondary School . Sowe worked in various professional fields and was self-employed.

In 2016, Sowe joined the newly founded Gambia Democratic Congress (GDC) party .

Demba Sowe ran as a candidate for the Gambia Democratic Congress (GDC) in the Niamina West constituency in the Janjanbureh Administrative Region in the 2017 parliamentary elections . With 54.50% he was able to win the constituency before Malick Sowe (NRP) for himself. In parliament he was deputy chairman of the Environment Committee and a member of the Trade and Tourism Committee.

He died on January 24, 2020 at the age of 48 in Casablanca, Morocco . His body was transferred to Gambia and buried in his hometown a week later. He left three wives and five children.
