Dembowski is an impact crater on the lunar front east of Sinus Medii , southeast of Triesnecker crater and northeast of Godin . The rim of the crater is heavily eroded, the northeastern part and the interior is covered by a lava flow .

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the Italian astronomer Ercole Dembowski .
