Demetrio Casile
Demetrio Casile is an Italian writer and filmmaker.
Life
Casile comes from Calabria and grew up in Bologna after adoption . In his youth he was an active walker ; later he devoted himself to the fine arts and attended academies in Reggio Calabria, Bologna, New York, Paris, London and Philadelphia. He has a studio in Bologna and is a lecturer at the Primo Levo University . In the mid-1980s, Casile devoted himself to film. His first screenplay (for Un ragazzo di Calabria ) received the Premio Solinas . After the publication of his first novel , Attorno all'albero la stupidità , he took on a role as an actor in 1995 and three years later directed Tra Scilla e Cariddi , which was only seen briefly in cinemas.
In 2003 he wrote a screenplay for Hollywood that was never made into a film. His film Con rabbia e con sapere , made in 2008 , also remained unpublished.
